Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that aren't covered in our FAQ section, be sure to give us a call. We'll be more than happy to address any questions or concerns that you might have.

Whether you’ve never had a tattoo before or have tons of ink and are just looking for a new experience, then you probably have a few questions for us. We always encourage our new customers to visit us at one of our local shops.  Before booking an appointment, you can probably get many of your questions answered by looking through our FAQ page.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

Just yourself and your tattoo concept.  We will take care of the rest.

Will the tattoo hurt?

All tattoos come with some pain.  That is the price you pay for greatness.  The level of pain you might feel depends on where the tattoo is placed and your personal tolerance.  Our artists can help you decide how to manage this.

Can my friends come with me?

Of course!  We’ll even help them get tattoos too!

Can I bring my beer?

Unfortunately, no…we do not allow any alcohol on site at our locations, nor do we allow any other illicit substances.  This is for your protection—many of these substances thin your blood, impeding clotting and impacting the healing process.

Do you all schedule tattoo parties?

Of course!  Any and all are welcome, so long as there is no alcohol.  These parties should be scheduled in advance.

How do I take care of my tattoo?

When you get your tattoo completed, we will give you a copy of our Aftercare Documentation that will show you how to take care of your new tattoo.  Follow these instructions to keep your ink looking great for years to come.

How fast do tattoos fade?

It all depends on skin tone, sun exposure, and how well you treat it during the healing process.  We offer aftercare kits that have all the stuff you need to take care of your tattoo after you get your ink done.

Is there any documentation I will need to complete prior to being tattooed or pierced?

We do ask that you complete either a Consent to Body Piercing or Consent to Tattoo form prior to having work done at Irish Ink Tattoo and Piercing.
